Stacy Hoffer, MA, M.Div, MSW, LCSW

I am a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where I completed a BA and MA in Psychology in 4 years (1988).  I then completed a Master of Divinity degree at Princeton Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work at Rutgers University in another joint 4 year degree program (1992, 1993).  I earned my LCSW in New Jersey in 1995, and worked in various hospitals in central NJ as a clinician and administrator until I went exclusively into private practice in 1996.  I have completed specialized training in Thought Field Therapy (a finely tuned version of Emotional Freedom Technique, EFT).  I am a Usui Reiki Master,  and an Integrated Energy Therapy Master-Instructor.  I am also a Certified Practitioner of Resonance Repatterning, recently and formerly known as Holographic Repatterning.  I have completed numerous workshops and continuing education courses on a wide range of clinical topics, germane to both children and adults.  I am well versed in Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Short-Term Therapy, and working with Managed Care.  I have a passion for learning and I am always looking for new tools and techniques to enhance the care that I offer. 

On a personal note, I have been on a personal healing journey from childhood trauma and clinical depression since 1988, including an episode of Post Partum Depression.  I was diagnosed with ADD in 1996.  I have been with my husband for 20 years, and we have two young sons, one of whom has the learning difference of Dyslexia and is gifted.  My older son is also gifted.  I  share this with you so that you can be assured that I am familiar with the healing process, as well as with being a spouse and mother.  I will not walk you down a road that I have not been down myself personally, which I believe is critical to maintaining integrity as a therapist. Moreover, although each person's journey is very different, from personal experience "what I know for sure" is that with faith, hard work, openness to change, and loving support, incredible healing and joy are possible for all of us.
