Your first session is an Assessment which lasts 60-75 minutes, and the fee is $250. See bold type below. 

Subsequent sessions last 50-55 minutes, and the fee is $150 per session.  See bold type below.

Per contract, Princeton Theological Seminary students have a $25 copayment and the balance is billed to your insurance company.

Princeton University students have a deductible and a copayment, and the rest is balanced billed to Aetna, for whom I am an "out of network" provider.

I accept cash and checks.  For those who have insurance, I can provide you with an insurance-ready receipt.  Many clients are able to recover all or part of the fees, as I am licensed as Clinical Social Workers by the state of New Jersey.  You would use your "out of network" benefits, and you would submit the receipt for paid services rendered to your insurance company yourself.  You would then receive direct reimbursement.

 New for 2011:  It's come to my attention recently that most top therapists do not accept insurance, thus making it impossible for many people who really need therapy, particularly children, to get it.  To that end, I am now willing to forge a "single case" contract with your insurance company if they are open to it.  Your "in network" benefits would then apply to my services.  Also I have expanded my sliding fee scale to $70 - $150 per therapy session, with the exception of the first visit, which would be $100 - $250.   

Whatever your financial situation, contact me to discuss.  Arrangments can be made so that sessions fit into your budget while also paying a reasonable fee.

I offer daytime and evening appointments, with some limited availability on the weekend.

Yes; where appropriate, I may make school visits or home visits.

I provide you with my business cellular telephone number, as listed on this website.  You have a direct line to me, and while you may sometimes get my voicemail, you will never have to go through another person to reach me.

I am happy to work with you so that your appointments are scheduled at a convenient time for you.  If you need to change an appointment, that is no problem, but I do request that you give at least 24 hours notice to do so.  Appointments that you cancel within 24 hours of their scheduled time will result in a $100 late cancellation fee.  I will review this policy with you during your first appointment.

If at any time during your care you feel that you are in a crisis, please go to your local crisis center or hospital emergency room, and call me from there.  I am not equipped to provide 24/7 coverage to my clients, but I do want to know what is going on with you.  With your permission, I will speak to the crisis/hospital staff to coordinate your care.

Everything you say to me is confidential, and is protected legally as such.  I break confidentiality only if you are a danger to yourself or others.  Otherwise, I will not even acknowledge that you are my client unless you give me written permission to do so. 

Starting in August of 2011, I will have limited hours available at 20 Nassau Street in Princeton, with priority being given to those students who do not have cars.  I will continue to offer a variety of hours at my home office, 477 Walnut Lane, also in Princeton.
